The HTMS Chang isn’t just any shipwreck; it was intentionally sunk by the Royal Thai Navy in 2012 to create an artificial reef. This purposeful sinking transformed the vessel into a thriving habitat for marine life, serving as a magnet for marine biodiversity, making each dive an immersive experience into an underwater world filled with life.

hin rab south

🐠  Attraction: The most soft coral of all the dives sites

Hin Rab South is a great dive site for beginner and experiences divers. From schools of tropical fish like snappers and fusiliers to sightings of moray eels, lionfish, and occasional sightings of larger species such as rays and turtles (possibly even whale sharks), Hin Raab South promises memorable encounters for divers of varying experience levels.

Hin Tai Nam

(Blueberry Hill)

🐟  Attraction: Diverse range of marine life, including colorful reef fish, larger species and coral gardens

Hin Tai Nam features fascinating rock formations and crevices that add to the allure of the dive. Depending on the season, occasional visits from larger marine creatures like whale sharks might occur.

T11 Shipwreck

🤿  Attraction: Colorful tropical fish: snappers and batfish. Reef fish: angelfish and parrotfish. Macro life: nudibranchs and shrimp

The T11 shipwreck is a sunken Thai naval vessel that offers an immersive experience, allowing divers to explore the remnants of the ship, witness its transformation into a vibrant marine habitat, and encounter a diverse array of marine life thriving amidst the wreckage. Hin Rua Tek (Banana Rock)

Hin Rua Tek, known as Banana Rock, offers a mesmerizing underwater playground with its stunning granite boulders and vibrant marine life. This captivating dive site’s unique rock formations and diverse marine inhabitants make it a must-visit destination for those seeking thrilling underwater adventures amidst striking natural beauty.

Hin Luk Bat

🐟  Visibility: 5 – 20 meters
🐟  Max depth: 17 meters
🐟  Attraction: Moray eels, stingrays, orange-spotted pipefish, barracuda

One of Koh Chang’s premier dive sites. This dive sites, surrounded by colossal boulders, hosts a diverse marine ecosystem.  Offering multiple levels to explore, it stands out as the best dive site on Koh Chang, complete with intricate swim-throughs for experienced divers.

Koh Khlum

🤿  Visibility: 5-15 meters
🤿  Max depth: 8-12 meters
🤿  Attraction: Beautiful coral, fish and a sandy beach.

This is the main island you can see from Bang Bao. Great spot for snorkeling and for those training to dive.

Hin Ga Daeng –

Koh Rang pinnacle

🐠  Attraction: Barracuda, porcupine fish, groupers, triggerfish, turtles and schools of batfish.

Discover the depths of Koh Rang with a mesmerizing dive at The Pinnacles, an awe-inspiring underwater cathedral and the deepest dive site in the area. While the site boasts a unique rock structure, it’s the diverse marine life that steals the show. Despite strong and unpredictable currents, this site is a photographer’s paradise, offering glimpses of rare species like Eagle Rays and Stellar Puffer fish amidst stunning coral gardens.

Koh Tien West

🐟  Max depth: 13-15 meters
🐟  Attraction: Jenkins Whip Rays, Titan Triggerfish, Boxfish, Seal Faced Puffer

Previously devastated by storms and coral bleaching, this site is starting to recover.  Despite the damage, gardens of Christmastree Worm still surround the area and the site remains a great place to visit. 

Hin Kuak Ma –

three finger reef

🤿  Attraction: Eels, nudibranches, stonefish, blue-spotted stingrays, moray eels, blue-ringed angelfish, snapper, and Indian Walkman

Dive into greatness at one of Koh Rang’s finest sites, featuring a captivating rock wall on the south side. The backside transforms into a coral-covered slope, offering a vibrant underwater spectacle. Three Finger Reef showcases a dynamic landscape with three coral ‘fingers,’ creating a haven for marine life. 

Koh Yak

🐠  Max depth: 15 meters
🐠  Attraction: Cobia, Lionfish, schools of fusiliers, and yellowtail barracuda

Explore the enchanting Yaks Islands, surrounded by a stunning coral reef that captivates both beginners and experienced reef divers alike. These small, picturesque islands offer ample dive time in shallow depths, making them a favorite among many divers. 

Koh Laun

🐟  Visibility: 5-20 meters
🐟  Max depth: 14 meters
🐟  Attraction: Sting rays, anemone fish, peacock mantis shrimp

Next to Koh Yak and sharing comparable dimensions and depths. If you observe closely amidst isolated soft coral, you may encounter Harlequin shrimp and the possibility of spotting Nudibranch. The site also boasts extensive schools of fish.

Koh Mapring

🤿  Max depth: 10-12 meters
🤿  Attraction: Lionfish, Stingray, Yellowtail Barracuda

We often stop for lunch at this site, where you can swim and snorkel.  This is also a great spot for DSD training, that is conducted on the beach.
